Kenji Tatebe

MR. KENJI TATEBE, beloved husband of the late May (Yoshie) Tatebe, of Lethbridge, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the age of 86 years. Kenji was born on September 21, 1922 at Mission, BC. He was evacuated to the Picture Butte area in 1942 and he later moved to Lethbridge in 1951. He was a long-time employee of McGavin's Bakery. He also worked at the Drive-In Theatre for a number of years. He is survived by his brother Joe (Jean) of Lethbridge and his sister, Shizue Shirley (Robert) Taniguchi of Lethbridge as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his father Kyusaburo in 1962, his mother Chiye in 1990, his brother Yasuo in 1994, his wife May in 2000 and his brother Harry in 2008. A private family service will be held at GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703-13 Street North, Lethbridge, on Tuesday, June 2, 2009, with Rev. Y. Izumi officiating. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge. Flowers and koden are gratefully declined.
