Johanna Nickle

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of JOHANNA ADRIANA MARGARETHA NICKLE, beloved wife of Alvin Roy Nickle of Raymond, AB. She passed away at Prairie Ridge Home on Friday, August 17, 2012 at the age of 83. She is the loving mother of Barend de Wit of Mission BC, Hans de Wit of Stoney Creek, ON, Tony de Wit of Delbourne, AB, Dina Pollock of Abbotsford, BC, Mary de Wit of White Rock, BC, Robert de Wit of Orleans, ON. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first love Barend de Wit and her parents Serphas and Maria Ewald, brother Peter Ewald and sister Margarietha Atsma. Oma was born April 6, 1929 in Utrecht, Netherlands. Married Barend deWit Dec 23, 1948 and became a talented seamstress and concert pianist. They then moved to Canada in 1959, became established in Abbotsford, BC where they started a successful music store. They sold many instruments and gave many music lessons there. With failing health, Barend sold the business and passed away Feb 23, 1998. Johanna then met Alvin Nickle in 1999 and they married March 29, 2003 and continued her time as a busy homemaker, crocheting and playing piano as long as she could until dementia took her memory away. Friends may meet the family from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at the Knight Street Chapel on Friday, August 24, 2012. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, KNIGHT STREET CHAPEL, 260 E, 200N, Raymond with Bishop Ron McMullin officiating. Interment will follow at the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond.
