Janyce loved and appreciated all of her many nieces and nephews. Janyce was predeceased by her parents, Aziel & Lulu Stevenson, two brothers Ray & Alan & two brothers-in-law, Alan VanOrman & Charlie Rockenbach. Janyce was born February 6, 1938 in her most favorite town, Raymond, where she was also raised and resided until her passing. She went to school in Raymond and often shared many fond memories of school dances, ball games, roller skating in the cultural hall, and church activities. After high school Janyce attended the University of Alberta for one year and received her teachers certificate and began her teaching career in Wrentham in 1957. In 1959 Janyce married David Erickson and they resided on the family farm until 1980 when she moved back to Raymond. Janyce took a few years off then resumed her teaching in Stirling in 1977. She continued teaching and also returned to university earning her four year education degree from the University of Lethbridge in 1982. Janyce was an active and dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints her whole life. She served willingly and faithfully in many callings including Young Women's president, Primary president, Relief Society presidency, choir director, family history worker, visiting teacher and teacher. Janyce enjoyed singing in ward and stake choirs. One of her fondest memories was the opportunity she had to sing in the Salt Lake Tabernacle with the "Singing Mothers" in 1967. Janyce has truly loved watching any activity, whether it was sports or music, that involved her grandkids. She was their number one supporter and if she couldn't attend she was calling her children's cell phones to find out how the game or event was going; she didn't miss a beat. One of the most exciting events of the year for Janyce was going to the annual Sugar Bowl basketball tournament in Raymond during the Christmas holidays. In her own words "Sugar Bowl is my time and I want to go to all of the games". Janyce was a "red and white Comet girl" through and through, she loved a good ball game. She will have the best seat in the house now Janyce will undoubtedly be missed by her family, friends and any who may have had the privilege of knowing this amazing lady. She was always thinking of others as this was one of her many talents. We love you so much Mom, you are truly an angel. Special thanks to the angel staff at the Raymond Health Center, all doctors especially Dr. Steed who has known and cared for mom for many years.
