James Pratt

JAMES EDWARD TALMAGE PRATT passed away Monday, May 5, 2008 at the age of 85 years. He was predeceased by his wife Leona in 1987. Jim will be missed by his son Greg (Kathy) of Lethbridge; grandsons Chris (Kimberly) of Calgary, Ryan (Shannon) of Lethbridge, Jeff (Jessica) of Calgary and Tim (Lindsay) of Calgary, and nine great grandchildren: Addison, Ashton, Lauren and Kennedy; Kaden and Brycen; Olivia and Clara; and Cohen; sister, Hilda (Francis-deceased) Russell and twin brother John (Dixie). Jim was born April 23, 1923 in Lethbridge, the last of 10 children of Florence Mary Smith and William Webster Pratt. He was educated in Lethbridge and joined the Air Force at 19. He married Leona in 1944. Jim retired from CP Express where he worked for 35 years. Jim and John were very close through their entire lives and could often be found golfing together at Magrath. Jim was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While his health was good he was at the Seniors' Centre every day and appreciated his friends there. He was a dedicated Meals on Wheels volunteer for many years and even when his health started to fail, delivering Meals on Wheels was something he always looked forward to. He enjoyed serving others. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Lethbridge East Stake Centre, 4105 Forestry Avenue South, with Bishop Richard Hill officiating. Friends may meet the family prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment in the Archmount Cemetery, Lethbridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Thank you from the family for all your kindnesses.
