
ISAMU (JACK) MIYAGI of Lethbridge, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2007 at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital at the age of 86 years. Jack was born in Kelowna, B.C. on May 3, 1920 to Kamekichi and Shige Miyagi. At the age of three years, he moved to Okinawa, Japan with his mother and brother Tadao. He returned to Canada at age 16 years to live and work with his father on farms in Southern Alberta. He married Sue Nishi in 1942. They worked at the York Hotel Coffee Shop in Lethbridge, then owned and operated Sue's Confectionary. Jack worked at Ellison Milling for twenty - seven years, retiring in 1984. He was a long time member of the Okinawa Cultural Society and the Honpa Buddhist Church. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, Okinawan singing and dancing. He was a friend to all at the Garden View Lodge where he was a resident at the time of his passing. He is survived by his sister - Haruko (Shigenobu) Shinjo of Okinawa, Japan and several cousins. The Funeral Service will be held in the GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 703 - 13th Street South, Lethbridge on Thursday, March 29th, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Rev. Y. Izumi officiating. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge. Koden gratefully declined.
