Isabelle Ronney

ISABELLE DOROTHY ANDERSON RONNEY, beloved wife of the late Ted Ronney, passed away at Good Samaritans Prairie Ridge, Raymond on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the age of 95 years. She is the loving mother of: Reid (Doreen) Anderson of Lethbridge, Moyle (deceased) (Eunice) Anderson of Cardston, Rex (deceased) (Eileen) Anderson of Raymond, Gordon (Pat) Anderson of Lethbridge, Barbara (Gordon) Snow of Raymond, Judy (Gordon - deceased) Cooper of Okotoks, Floyd (Bev) Anderson of Cardston, Dale Anderson (Linda Kovacks) of Victoria, and Lynden (Teresa) Anderson of New Dayton. She is also survived by 45 grandchildren. Isabelle is predeceased by her first husband, Angus Anderson (April 1972), her second husband, Theodore Ronney (1998), sons Moyle Anderson and Rex Anderson, and a son-in-law, Gordon Cooper. Isabelle was born on August 4, 1914 to Helen Voytko. She was raised by her grandparents Mary and Steven Voytko. At the age of 11, after her grandmother passed away, Isabelle worked for various families throughout Southern Alberta. In the early days (ages 13-14), Isabelle played sax and banjo with her brothers in Retlaw, Vauxhall and Taber. Isabelle met and married Angus Anderson on May 3, 1933. They lived together as pioneers and farmed east of New Dayton in the Tyrells Lake Area. Together they raised 9 children, the three eldest from Angus' first marriage to Ada Erickson. After 39 years of marriage, Angus passed away. Isabelle was fortunate to meet and marry Theodore Ronney in December 1974. In their senior years they enjoyed more relaxed times, camping, travelling, gardening and enjoying all the grandchildren. Isabelle was a member of the LDS Church. Beginning at Tyrells Lake Branch and later in the Warner Ward. After church Isabelle always cooked huge wonderful meals, in service to her family and neighbors. Friends may meet the family on Tuesday evening, March 30 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at CHRISTENSEN SALMON FUNERAL HOME, 327-10 Street South, Lethbridge, or prior to the funeral service on Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the LDS Raymond Stake Centre. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Raymond Stake Centre, Raymond, AB, with Bishop Ron Fromm officiating. Interment will follow in the Stirling Cemetery.
