Irene Waterfield

IRENE TOMIKO WATERFIELD passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the age of 78 years. Irene is survived by her children: Craig (Marilyn) Waterfield, Merle (Stacey) Waterfield, and Bruce Waterfield. She is also survived by her brother, George (Thelma) Saito and a half-brother, Victor Fukuda, as well as her grandchildren. Irene was born on April 9, 1933 in Victoria, BC, moving to Alberta in 1942. She attended school in Coaldale, eventually moving to Lethbridge where she worked and raised her family. She cared dearly about all those near to her, including her youngest son Bruce, who remained with her throughout her life. She also had a love of gardening, and compassion for any stray animals deciding to come her way and join her family. The family wishes to thank all the caregivers for their compassion and attentive care as well as all those who supported Irene throughout her life. It was Irene's wish that no funeral service be held. A viewing will take place on Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at CHRISTENSEN SALMON GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703-13 Street North, Lethbridge. In lieu of flowers or koden, memorial donations may be made to the No-Kill Animal Association (NOKA) - 880 Heritage Blvd. W, Suite 132, Lethbridge, AB T1K 7V5.
