IRENE (LELEKACH) NORDEAN

April 30, 1925 – July 3, 2017

Irene passed away in Picture Butte, Alberta in her 92nd year. Irene was born in Readymade, AB and spent most of her life in Turin and Picture Butte.

Irene was predeceased by her husband Melford in 1988, and her sister Margaret Scott in 1992. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her son Lyndon (Susan), grandchildren Sarah (Ian) and Melissa (Scott) and great grandchildren: Marlowe, Vivian, Clive and Lila, as well as her sister Betty Elaschuk and loved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Irene was well-known in her community. She drove a school bus from 1962 – 1991, won many awards for her garden, and in 2009 received a Minister’s Seniors Service Award at Government House for her dedication and service to Seniors in the Picture Butte area.

Thank-you to Dr. Brenda Ireland, Home Care Services, and the staff at Piyami Place and the Lodge in Picture Butte who provided wonderful care for Irene and support to the family.

A celebration of Irene’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at her church, TRINITY UNITED, 528 Maple Cres. South, Picture Butte.
