IRA A. BOURNE passed away peacefully Saturday, October 23, 2010 in Raymond at the age of 90. He is survived by his wife Vivian Scoville Bourne and children, Alan and Pat Bourne, Randy and Andrea Bourne, Beverly Barnett, Bill and Maxine Preston, Barb and Jim Depew, Joan and Leonard Johnson and his sisters-in-law, Marion Bourne and Lavonne Hall. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Todd Nelson, 3 grandchildren, his parents Elijah and Winnifred and all his siblings. Ira was proud of his 26 grandchildren. He was involved in all sports and recognized most for his colorful way of refereeing basketball and baseball for over 40 years. He travelled to Japan and Ireland to referee basketball. He received standing ovations in both countries for his unique way of blowing the whistle and signalling calls. Ira was a fireman for over 30 years, a policeman and a salesman. He lived life to the fullest and created great memories for his family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, KNIGHT STREET CHAPEL, Raymond, on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may meet the family at the Church on Friday evening October 29 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. or on Saturday prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Interment to follow in the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond, AB.
