Iji 'Roy' Takeda

March 17, 1925 - December 15, 2009 IJI ROY TAKEDA passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital after a short illness. Beloved husband of the late Nancy Takeda; survived by his children: Pam (Glen) Tanaka; Barb Takeda; Bev (Gary) McIlroy; Cathy (Gordon) Herriman; David (Marie-Ann) Takeda; Jamey (Pauline) Takeda; Tami (Kevin) MacLean. Grandchildren: Jennifer Tanaka; Sandi (David), Nikolai and Nate Westwood; Trevor McIlroy; Randi McIlroy (Geoff Abbott), Logan Abbott; Devin, Nikki and Brett Takeda; Keenan, Kira and Kole Takeda; Duncan and Riley MacLean. He is also survived by his brother George Takeda, sisters Mickie Kamo, Novey (Min) Yoshida; and Tobie Sakamoto. Friends and relatives are invited to meet the family on Saturday, December 19, 2009 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at THE BUDDHIST TEMPLE OF SOUTHERN ALBERTA, 470-40 Street South, Lethbridge. The Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Y. Izumi officiating. Cremation and interment to follow at a later date.
