Idale Kenney

IDALE LUND KENNEY, loving wife of the late Jack Kenney, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2009 in Lethbridge at the age of 97 years. She is survived by her daughter, Jeri (Jim) Wood; daughter-in-law, Bette (Jack) Klassen; two grandchildren, Cheryl (Bob) Bullock and Kenney (Julie) Wood; ten great grandchildren, Cari (Mark) Nelson, Brandon, Kyle (Lindsay), Blake and Emily Bullock, Amy, Brooke, Kelsie, Paige and Abby Wood; three sisters-in-law, Leora, Jane and Ivy Lund; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Idale was predeceased by her husband Jack in1983 and her sons, Dee in 1978 and John Brye in infancy; her parents DeLoss and Mary Ellen Lund and siblings, Manilla, Andy, Art, Clark, Clatie, Crystal, Rozz, Hazel, Harry and Ersel. Idale was born on August 19, 1911 on the farm south of Raymond - the seventh of eleven children. She grew up learning the value of hard work but also knew how to have a lot of fun with her siblings. Idale's schooling began at Mammoth School just south of Raymond and later she attended school in Raymond and also the Agriculture College. Idale married Jack Kenney on August 30, 1930 in Raymond where they raised their family with a few years spent in Duchess and Taber. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and special Nana to her great grandchildren. Idale was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many leadership positions throughout her life. She had many talents and hobbies including a love for quilting and over the years many have benefited from her instruction and encouragement. She enjoyed being a homemaker and loved taking care of her family, especially with her delicious meals and baking. Idale's last years were spent at the Lethbridge ExtendiCare - the family would like to thank the wonderful staff for the unconditional love and care they provided each and every day. We will be forever grateful for their loving dedication to her. Relatives and friends who would like to meet the family are invited to GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703 - 13 Street North, Lethbridge on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m., or at the church on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Raymond Stake Centre, 2 North - 200 West, Raymond, with Elder Gary Garner officiating. Interment to follow in the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond.
