
ICHIO IBUKI, beloved husband of Rumiko Ibuki passed away at Nippon Medical School Hospital, Tokyo, Japan, on March 27, 2009, at the age of 74 years, after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). He will be deeply missed by his children: Debra Nishi (granddaughter Miya Nishi); Wendy Lamont, Shauna Ibuki (Steve Gaylor), and Mitchell Ibuki. Ichio is survived by his brother Toshimi Ibuki (Marian) and their daughter Alyssa Hunt (Shawn), and many relatives. Ichio was predeceased by his parents, Saichi and Shizuo Ibuki. Ichio was a dedicated teacher and educator for many years primarily with the County of Lethbridge No. 26. He greatly appreciated the support of the council members, teachers and parents. After retirement, Ichio pursued an interest in financial planning. He also served as vice-chair for the Attendance Board, Alberta Education for many years. Ichio was especially proud of his granddaughter, Miya, and they enjoyed spending time together. Going for coffee, fishing, golfing, and visiting with his many good friends and family gave him much pleasure. Special thanks to Drs. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the BUDDHIST TEMPLE OF SOUTHERN ALBERTA, 470-40 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Reverend Yasuo Izumi officiating. Koden and flowers are gratefully declined.
