
IAN GILLESPIE WILSON of Raymond, born December 10, 1926 and passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 following a hard struggle with cancer. He was predeceased by his father Hugh, his mother Ann Logan Gillespie; three brothers, Alexander (Mary), Munroe (Margaret), Stuart (Eeva) and sister Anna May (Fred) MacLeod. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years - Ruth Campton Wilson, by his son - John and his family - John Robert, Jordan, Lee (Julie) Garbutt, Bonnie Garbutt; and by his daughter - Kathleen (Kathy) Nielson and her family - Ethan (Emily), Daryl, Caitlin (Matt Pigeau), Bridget (Aaron) Penney; and six great grandchildren. Ian was born and raised in Montreal, PQ, happily spending his summers in the Laurentians. He cleared land, built a cabin on a lake, enjoyed camping, swimming, hunting and the outdoors with the family. Another great love was the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He served the church in many different capacities, including a mission to England and Temple Service with Ruth. Ian will be remembered for his faithfulness to family and friends, his loyalty to his principles, his kindness and patience and quiet good humor. We will sadly miss him. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Raymond Stake Centre with Bishop Carlos Jensen officiating. Friends may meet the family prior to the service at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Interment to follow in the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond. If desired, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
