Hugo Bexte

HUGO AUGUST BEXTE, beloved husband of Charlotte Bexte of Picture Butte, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the age of 77years. He was the devoted father to Christina Bexte (Ian Phillips) of Edmonton, Martina Bexte of Lethbridge, Karl Bexte (Linda) of Iron Springs and Dirk Bexte of Picture Butte and very proud grandfather of Lindsay, Taylor and Melissa. Dad was born in Namslau, Germany in 1932 and at the age of twenty-three immigrated to Canada with his family. Once settled in the Picture Butte area, he farmed there for many years and eventually moved to a small acreage. Dad was also one of the first growers to join the Lethbridge and District Exhibition and Farmer's Market where over the course of almost forty years, he and mom cultivated a loyal customer base who enjoyed their diverse selection of flowers and vegetables. Dad's quiet, steady and giving nature will be sadly missed by all of us who loved him, but most especially by his three granddaughters, Lindsay, Taylor and Melissa. Friends may meet with the family at GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703-13 Street North, Lethbridge, on Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.
