PHILIP MONTY HOOT of Lethbridge passed away at St. Michael's Health Centre on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 after a nearly decade-long struggle with Alzheimer disease. Monty was born in Winnipeg MB, the older of two sons born to Philip and Dolly Hoot. He was predeceased by his mother and father, and is survived by his brother Paul (Catherine) of Kamloops, BC. Monty was a long-time local businessman, operating many successful enterprises including Chinook Sales and Service and Action RV. He was truly a gentleman and a "gentle man" with a great sense of humor. He loved nature, being outdoors and his animals ... horses, dogs and cats. He is survived by his wife Rae, his son Daniel, and his daughters: Judy (Rae) McCall, Terry (Len) Rook, Kellie (Ken) Giovinazzo, Sandy (Chris) Sparrow, 6 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. We will miss our loving father and husband. The family is very grateful for the love and compassion shown to Monty by the staff at St. Michael's Health Centre over the past 6 years. There will be no funeral service and cremation has taken place. To those who wish to donate, the family asks that you direct your contributions to the Alzheimer Society of Lethbridge, 402-740-4 Ave. S., Lethbridge, AB T1J 0N9.
