Helen Duffy

DUFFY HELEN VAN BLARICOM DUFFY, beloved wife of the late Thomas Duffy of Lethbridge, passed away at West Highlands on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at the age of 89 years. She is the loving mother of Patrick and Sarai Duffy of Lethbridge, Alberta. Helen leaves behind 13 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Robert and Jane Van Blaricom of Tiburon, California, and her sister Jan and Gary Power of Eugene, Oregon. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Stephen Duffy, her brother Webster Van Blaricom and his wife Sylvia of Oakland, California, and her parents Moselle Amanda Webster and Shelomi Samuel Van Blaricom. Helen was born in Helena, Montana and lived most of her early years in Great Falls, Montana. She met Tom at the University of Montana in Missoula, where they married. They lived for a number of years in Butte, Montana which was Tom's home town where she worked as a hospital lab technician. They moved in 1962 to near Edmonton where she and Tom were school teachers. Later they settled in Edson, Alberta for many years before eventually retiring to Cardston, Alberta. She has been living in Lethbridge near her son's family since Tom died in 2000. She is remembered by all as a small sweet, intelligent, caring woman. Friends may meet with the family in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada at GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703-13 Street North, Lethbridge on Friday, April 30, 2010 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. or on Saturday at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service.
