Harry Tatebe

Mr. HARRY YUKIO TATEBE, beloved husband of the late Marilyn (Misao) Tatebe, of Lethbridge, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at the age of 87 years.
Harry was born on April 26, 1921 at Mission, B.C. He was evacuated to the Picture Butte area in 1942 and he later moved to Lethbridge in 1951. He met Marilyn in 1958 and they were married in 1959. He was a finishing carpenter by trade and also owned and operated Jim's Grocery in the 1960s-1970s.

He is survived by two daughters, Jackie of Calgary and Fran (Ralph Arnold) of Lethbridge; his granddaughter, Natalie of Lethbridge; two brothers, Joe (Jean) of Lethbridge, Kenji of Lethbridge; one sister, Shizue Shirley (Robert) Taniguchi of Lethbridge; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

He was predeceased by his father Kyusaburo in 1962, his mother Chiye in 1990, his brother Yasuo in 1994, and his wife Marilyn in 1988.

Funeral services will be held at GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703 - 13th St. N., on Sunday, September 14th, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Y. Izumi officiating.

Flowers and koden are gratefully declined. For those who wish, donations may be made in Harry's name to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317 - 10 Street South, Lethbridge T1J 2M7 or the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON), 234 - 12C Street North, Lethbridge T1H 2M7.

A private family interment will take place on Monday, September 15, 2008 at the Mountain View Cemetery
