HAROLD SUDDABY February 28, 1920 ~ April 24, 2010 HAROLD ROBERT SUDDABY, of Lethbridge beloved husband of Elaine Suddaby, passed away in Lethbridge on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the age of 90 years. Besides his loving wife Elaine of 33 years, Harold is survived by his daughter Shannon; 2 grandchildren; sisters Isly and Faith of Edmonton; Elaine's children Douglas (Donna) Lengyel, Peggy (Monti) Turner and Elaine's twin sister Eleanor McLean; 4 grandchildren Linsey (Jarrod) of Tennessee, Rachel (Dustin) of Magrath, Shara of Calgary, Darcy of Coaldale and great-grandchild Jaxson. He is predeceased by his parents Howard Robert, Amy Elizabeth and 3 brothers. Harold was born and raised in Viking, AB farming with his Dad and family, then at the age of 21 years Harold joined the army. He went into Normandy on a tank barge in full dress for 9 days, after V.D. day, he served 4 years 10 months overseas in WW II. Harold returned after the war when jobs were hard to find, he became a carpenter working in Canada and the U.S.A. Harold married Elaine in 1976 and retired at the age of 62 years. The two of them travelled with their R.V., for fifteen years in Canada and the U.S.A. Together they had a mobile home in Casa Grande, AZ and Craig, Montana. Harold loved to fish, enjoyed hockey games, baseball also hiking in the mountains. He also said that he "had a wonderful life." He was a legion member for 60 years. A Graveside Service for family and friends will be held at 10 A.M., on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY. In honour of Harold's memory a memorial contribution may be made to a charity of one's choice.
