GORDON LUCHIA of Nobleford, passed away peacefully at St. Michael's Palliative Care on May 25, 2012, with his family by his side, at the age of 82 years. Gordon is survived by his wife of 57 years Lucinda (Phillips), his children: Wanda (Marty), Kevin (Kathy), Perry (Sandra), Gwen (Scott) and Marianne (Jesse); grandchildren: Charlene (Howard), Brian (Krystal), Jessica, Chris, Kyle, Kurt (Jennifer), Erin, Ryan, Paige (Cole), Shelby, David (Samantha) and Nicholas (Kiri); great grandchildren: Kalena, Myra, Jenae, Harper and Elsie. He was predeceased by his parents LeRoy and Emma; sisters and brothers-in-law Doris & John and Audrey & Ed; adoptive parents Charles and Laura; in-laws Walter and Eleanor. Gordon was actively involved in the formation of the Keho Park Golf Club where he played as recently as May 1, 2012. He was a Life member of both the Keho Park Golf Club and the Nobleford Curling Club. Gordon served in many capacities with Royal Canadian Legion, including Zone Commander. Gordon, along with his team mates, represented Alberta at the National Legion Curling Championships in 1984. He was also the Past Patron of the Heather Chapter of the Eastern Star, and District Deputy and Life member of the Masonic Lodge. In 1983 Gordon was recognized by the Province of Alberta for his outstanding volunteer contributions to recreation development. In 1992 Gordon received the "Commemorative Medal for the 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada" in recognition of significant contribution to compatriots, community of Canada. At Gordon's request there will be a private family interment at Archmount Memorial Gardens with Rev. Trevor Potter officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gordon's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Lethbridge & Area, 317 - 10 Street S. Lethbridge T1J 2M7 or to St. Michael's Palliative Care, 1400 - 9 Avenue S. Lethbridge T1J 4V5.
