GEORGE MELDRUM HEGGIE 1917 - 2007 GEORGE (JUDD) MELDRUM HEGGIE of Raymond, Alberta, beloved husband of Lois Heggie, passed away surrounded by his family, Thursday, October 11, 2007 at the age of 90 years. George was born to George Smith Heggie and Nora Meldrum on April 28, 1917 in Raymond, Alberta. George and Lois were married for 55 wonderful years. He is survived by his wife and loving eternal companion, Lois Vivian Milner and seven children: Wayne (Brenda) of Magrath, Leanne (Charlie) of Boyle, Kathy (David) of Raymond, Maureen (Simon) of Lethbridge, Michael (Barbara) of Lethbridge, Roy (Cindy) of Hill Spring, Keith (Brenda) of Billings, MT. He is also survived by 31 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, and one sister Margaret Reay of Altona, UT. George was predeceased by three brothers: Bruce, Grant, John; and two sisters: Ruby and Nora; and one grandson Casson Cahoon. George lived his whole life in Raymond and recalls many fond memories in his youth spent with his Dad on the Knight Ranch, where he acquired a lifetime love for horses. He farmed in the Raymond area and was a very avid gardener. He was proud of his gardens and shared them with many. George's roots as a farmer began as a child where he learned the value of work and grew to appreciate the love of the land. Through his 90 years he gently but unforgettably touched the lives of all he met. He will be remembered as a quiet, patient, gentle man who loved his wife and family beyond all else. He will be sadly missed and remembered in a special place in our hearts. Friends may meet the family at the Knight Street Chapel, Raymond on Sunday, October 14, 2007 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. or at the church on Monday prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. The Funeral Service will be held at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Knight Street Chapel, Raymond on Monday, October 15, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Dwight Karren officiating. Interment to follow at the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond.
