
BUD (GEORGE R.) BOULTON, beloved husband of Frieda of Lethbridge, Alberta, passed away at Edith Cavell Nursing Home September 29, 2011 at the age of 84 years. Loving father of Linda Klima (Ed), Karen LaValley (Doug), Brenda, Anna Lee and Robert Boulton; grandfather of Kevin (Loranne), Ashleigh, Cameron, Vanessa, Garret, and Andrew; and great grandfather of Austin, Kayleigh and Mira. Bud was predeceased by his sister Jean (Claude) Smith; brothers Don (Aileen), Tom (Joan) and Dick (Doreen) Boulton. Bud was born on April 13, 1927 in Lethbridge to Harry and Elizabeth Boulton. He grew up on the family dairy and in April 1945 graduated form the Olds School of Agriculture; and in 1950 obtained his welding ticket with S.A.I.T. He later partnered with brothers Tom and Don to operate the family farm known as Boulton Brothers Dairy. He married Frieda Hanzelik in 1953 and they lived on the family farm near Lethbridge. After his retirement in 1992 the couple moved to a nearby acreage. Throughout his life Bud served on numerous agriculture and farming boards and committees. He enjoyed playing and coaching hockey and golfing with his brother Tom. He loved playing guitar and will always be remembered for his singing, yodeling, joke telling and engaging smile. Bud had deep love of animals and these were always part of his life. In later years he spent many hours engaged in card playing with Frieda, Eva, Jake & Irma. The family wishes to thank the staff, and especially Lorie, at Edith Cavell Nursing Home for their continuous kindness and support. In celebration of Bud's life, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with the Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at CHRISTENSEN SALMON GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703 - 13th Street North, Lethbridge with Reverend Brenda Kersell officiating.
