With love and gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Garth Roland Jensen on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at the age of 73.

He was born February 27, 1953 to Arley and Alice Jensen in Taber, Alberta. He was the 7th child out of 11 children.

Garth was a skilled cabinetmaker whose craftsmanship reflected his patience, dedication and attention to detail. He took great pride in creating beautiful pieces with his hands and was respected by all who knew his work.

Above all else, Garth cherished his family. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren, sharing stories, laughter, wisdom and unconditional love. His family was the center of his life and the memories he created with them will be treasured forever.

Garth also loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed riding horses with the cowboys. Whether on the trail or gathered together, he felt at home in the saddle and cherished the friendships and experiences that came from those adventures.

A devoted member of his church, Garth faithfully served a mission to Denmark and later in life had the privilege of serving a senior couple mission with his wife Barbara at Cove Fort, Utah. Together they also served many happy hours in the temple. His testimony, kindness and quiet example of service touched the lives of many. He sought to follow the Savior throughout his life and found joy in serving others.

Those who knew Garth will remember his strong work ethic, gentle spirit, sense of humour and unwavering love for family and faith. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the family he loved fiercely and the example he set.

He is survived by his loving wife Barbara, his children Heather (Chad) Rausch and Janene Jensen; his grandchildren Ella (Mason) Schow, Mason (Bethany) Rausch, Tyson Rausch, Deacon Rausch, Mackenzie (Ayrison) Haynes and Mayna (Benson) Burton.

He was preceded in death by his son Garth Ryan Jensen, and by his parents.

Though he will be deeply missed, we find comfort in the memories we shared and in the knowledge that families are eternal.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 1:00 pm in the Stirling chapel with Bishop Cory Livingstone officiating.

Our family expresses heartfelt gratitude for the love, prayers and support extended during this time.
