Evelyn Christensen

CHRISTENSEN EVELYN RAE (SABEY) CHRISTENSEN, of Raymond, beloved wife of Gerald Christensen, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at the age of 69. Evelyn is survived by her eternal companion and sweetheart, Gary, and her children: Chemaine (Terry) Tieland, Jason (Cheryl) Christensen, Sharon (Martin) Woolf, and Allison (Stephen) Archibald, and 13 grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers and sister: Don (Karleen) Sabey, Guy (Arlene) Sabey, Sherry (Morris-deceased) Heggie and numerous nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, Evans and Helen Sabey, and a daughter, Sarah Ann. Evelyn loved her family, Raymond and all those she came in contact with. She attended school here and worked for many years at Raymond Motors and the Raymond Mercantile. Her hobbies included curling, golf, swimming, reading and writing. She especially enjoyed writing lyrics for special events which were performed by her daughters. Evelyn was a stalwart in her community and church giving many hours of service. Her home was always open to friends and family and the odd stranger. Special thanks goes to the many doctors and nurses at the Raymond General Hospital and the Lethbridge Renal Unit who cared for our wife and mother. Friends may meet the family on Friday evening, September 5, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the LDS Knight Street Chapel in Raymond, or prior to the service on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Knight Street Chapel, Raymond, with Bishop Robert Baker officiating. Interment in the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lethbridge Dialysis Unit, 960-19 Street South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 1W5.
