EVA LITTLE MUSTACHE NAATOYI KAANAISSKINAAKII (Holy Mouse Woman) APRIL 11, 1929 - JANUARY 15, 2011 MRS. EVA LITTLE MUSTACHE (Naatoyi Kaanaisskinaakii), (nee Strikes With A Gun), beloved wife of the late Albert Little Mustache, Jr., left us to be with Our Creator with her dear family and friends at her bedside on Saturday, January 15th, 2011, at the age of 81 years. Eva was born on April 11, 1929, on the Piikani Nation, to the late Charlie Strikes With A Gun and Alice Muggins. Eva married Albert in 1945, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and they raised eleven children. Eva spent her early years at residential school but always remained close to her family's home on the Piikani reserve. She was part of a huge extended family; she always shared the stories of growing up and attending residential school. Mom's family was talented in music and she learned to play the guitar and taught her younger siblings songs. She would share stories and traditional ways about how her parents took care of people. These traditional teachings and ways of caring were reinforced in how Eva raised her children. She also encouraged her children to get an education. She was proud of all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, in such areas of sports, art and education. Eva valued the family closeness. She loved her children unconditionally; she wanted her children to do their best in education by working hard in life for their achievements. She sewed and mended clothes for her grandchildren and made homemade bread for all who came to visit. She took care of her grandchildren and always welcomed the new babies with love. She always prayed for the whole family's well being. She raised her children with traditional prayer, as well as the Catholic Church, Cursillo movement and the Lac Ste. Anne Pilgrimages. Eva is survived by her loving children: Nelbert (Audrey) Little Mustache; Gordon (Carol) Little Mustache; Noella (Chuck) Wells; Anne (Keith) Brown from Seattle; Delia (Alvin) Crosschild; Grant (Louise) Little Mustache; Albertine Crow Shoe (Paul Raczka); Marie (Warren) Morning Bull; Florence Little Mustache (Aaron Good Rider); Stephanie Lee Ellertson; and Racquel Little Mustache (Lloyd Bad Eagle); 80 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, and special grandchildren Shawnee and Maggie; her brothers Peter (Jeannie) Strikes With A Gun and Mark (Blandine) Strikes With A Gun; her in-laws Alphonse & Wilma Little Mustache, Leita Halls, Arlene Marshall, Sally Listner and Beatrice Little Mustache; relatives and friends: Veronica Smith, Anne McMaster, June Duck Chief, Marie Sparvier, Louise English, Margaret Plaineagle, Elsie Crowshoe, and niece, Joyce No Runner, Browning.
