
ETHEL DUCE HARKER, beloved wife of the late Andrew Harker, passed away in Cardston on Wednesday, October 31, 2007at the age of 86 years. Ethel was born on October 23, 1921 in Cardston, AB, the 6th of ten children. She attended school in the Cardston and Aetna area. She was predeceased by her husband Andrew whom she married in 1939. She was active in the LDS church and served faithfully over the years in various callings. In 1979 she served a mission in Los Angeles, CA along with her husband Andrew. After his death she served a family history mission in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ethel had two wonderful trips, one to Japan to tour with a grandson who had completed a mission there as well as one to Israel which was one of the highlights of her life. She also had the opportunity to go on two Carribean Cruises. The happiest days of her life were spent in Arizona after Andy retired. They made some cherished friendships and had a lot of good times together. Ethel is survived by four children; Gary (Laurel) Harker, Deanna (Roger) Hawkins, Pat (Jim) Nilsson, and Ron (Dawna) Harker. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great- grandchild as well as two sisters, Grace Jensen and Carrie Jennings. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Lethbridge Stake Centre, 2410-28 Street South, Lethbridge, with Bishop Mark Hasegawa officiating. Interment to follow in the Archmount Memorial Gardens. Friends may meet the family on Saturday from 12:00 noon to 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
