ERNEST BERTHOLD JOHN FRACHE passed away peacefully at St, Michael's Health Centre, Palliative Care, on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at the age of 81 years. He is the loving husband of Rayma Frache for the past 58 years. He is also the loving father of four children: Betty-Lou (George-deceased) Kamma, Norma (Doral) Closson, Edward (Lorna), Loreen (Tom) Brooks and foster son Richard Holmes; 10 grandchildren: Haley, Ryan, Shane, Jon, Brenda, Mark, Cathy, Michelle, Jennifer, and Lurel; and 7 great grandchildren: Kameron, Tyler, Ethan, Nathan, Rylee, Kaden and Anise. He is also survived by his sister Betty (Maurice) Ford of Calgary. He was predeceased by his parents Eduard and Sara Frache, brothers Johnnie and Walter Frache, grandson Michael Kamma and son-in-law George Kamma. Ernie was born at Grand Forks, British Columbia, on December 13, 1926. He moved to Lethbridge with his family as a young boy, where he has resided all his life. He worked for a number of years at the family business, Frache Bros. Greenhouses, which he enjoyed very much. He worked for Alberta Agriculture, with 13 different Irrigation Districts, for 27 years until his retirement in 1987. He enjoyed working with the farmers and meeting with many different people. Ernie enjoyed camping, hiking and 5-pin bowling. He loved to show children of all ages his model railroad which he built and his remote control boats. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many capacities. Ernie will always be remembered as a kind and gentle man. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Lethbridge East Stake Centre, 4105 Forestry Avenue South, Lethbridge, with Bishop Richard Hill officiating. Friends may meet the family at the church prior to the service from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. Interment in the Archmount Cemetery, Lethbridge. The family would also like to express their gratitude to Ernie's doctors and to the nursing staff at Chinook Regional Hospital and St. Michaels Health Centre, Palliative Care for the wonderful care given.
