Ellen Barnaby

ELLEN BARNABY (ERICKSON), beloved wife of the late Noy Barnaby of Lethbridge, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2010 in Lethbridge. She is survived by her daughter Carol (Mike) Pochapsky of Olds; son Gerald Barnaby of Vernon, B.C.; three grandchildren: Diane (Pete) Huston, Debbie (Ron) Wallace and Brad (Meloyde) Pochapsky; great grandchildren: Thomas, Lucas, Nolan, Ryan, Kyle and Amanda; a brother Ed (Anne) Erickson of Monarch; as well as several nieces and nephews. Ellen is predeceased by her husband Noy; a grand daughter Pam and two brothers: Clarence (Ginger) Erickson of Lethbridge, Ernest Erickson of Fort Macleod. Ellen was born in Monarch in 1921, and lived most of her younger life in the Finley district. She married Noy Barnaby in 1941, and they resided in Lethbridge since 1942. Together they owned and operated a Meat & Grocery Store for many years. Ellen was also employed at the Auxiliary Hospital on the nursing staff for many years, as well as caring for her mother who was an invalid for 11 years in Southland Nursing Home. Later Ellen went into private homes to care for the elderly. A private family service will be held.
