Elaine Oler

ELAINE LITCHFIELD OLER, beloved wife of the late Darwin Oler, passed away peacefully in Lethbridge on Friday, April 13, 2007 at the age of 85 years.

She is the loving mother of: Sherry (Walter Svenson) of Ontario, Randall (Wendy) Oler of Manitoba, Blair (Anne) Oler of Lethbridge, and Kim (Gerry) Oler of Lethbridge. She leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and two sisters, Joy Fairbanks and Carol Shaw.

She was predeceased by her husband, Darwin; a granddaughter, Michele Oler; sisters: Marie, Lila and Irene; brothers, Robert and Glen; and her parents, Reid Litchfield and Letitia Price.

Elaine was born in Taber on November 30, 1921. She grew up and attended school in Raymond. In 1941 she married Darwin Oler in the Cardston Temple. Elaine and Darwin raised their family in Stirling, moving to Picture Butte in 1963. Her family and home were the centre of her life. She loved entertaining and cooking for family and friends. After her children were raised, she became the first matron of Piyami Lodge in Picture Butte where she was well-liked and respected. She was a woman of great faith and a life-long member of the LDS Church. Friends may meet the family on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703-13 Street North, Lethbridge, or prior to the funeral service on Wednesday from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Northside Chapel, 2223-6A. Avenue North, Lethbridge, with Bishop Robert Bender officiating. Interment to follow in the Stirling Cemetery.
