Send flowers

It is with sadness we announce the passing of our mom, DOROTHY EVELYN (ROLLINGSON) PETERSON on Saturday, April 12th at the Edith Cavell Care Centre, Lethbridge. Dorothy was born on March 8, 1931 in Lethbridge to Henry and Evelyn Rollingson. She spent her childhood and school years in the Lethbridge area. On October 21st 1950 she married the love her life, Milton Peterson and they moved to the farm in Warner where they raised four children. They resided there until moving to Lethbridge in 1982. While on the farm mom literally made their little part of the prairie bloom. She planted trees and abundant flower gardens which were the source of great pride and enjoyment for her and our family. Mom took great delight in creating a beautiful and comfortable home where many cherished memories of holidays, family gatherings and the joy of everyday life on the farm as a family were made. Her talent for art took her to enrolling at the University of Lethbridge in 1967 and graduating with her Fine Arts Degree with great distinction in 1979. Her love of nature, southern Alberta, the mountains and the farm were captured in a wide variety of artwork. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Milton, infant son, Lewis, parents Henry and Evelyn Rollingson, sister Joan Whyte and uncle Art Batty. She leaves to mourn her brother Norman (Heather) Rollingson of Provo, Utah, aunt Eileen Perry of Lethbridge, her children, Greg (Susan) Peterson of Raymond, Alan (Shawna) Peterson of Logan Utah, Connie of Lethbridge, Kevin (Tami) of Stirling, 14 grand children and 3 great-grand children as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 18th at 11:00 a.m. at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, 2410-28th Street South Lethbridge. Friends may meet the family at the church from 10:00 -10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment in the Mountain View Cemetery.
