
McLEOD After a protracted and courageous battle with Huntington's chorea, DONNA MARIE MCLEOD, 75, beloved wife of Roderick William McLeod of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 31, 2016, surrounded by loved ones. Donna is survived by her husband, Roderick Wm. of Lethbridge, AB and five children: Joe, and Andrea of Winnipeg, Sean (Tobi) of Lethbridge, Patricia Jean (Jay Richardson) of Mesa, AZ and Elin of Lethbridge; eleven grandchildren, Christie and Skye Hunter, Mary-Margaret, Emma, Elizabeth and Sam McLeod, E.J., Rory, Sydney, Mckenzie, and Avery Richardson; four great-grandchildren Anna, Carter, Benjiman and Echo Hunter; mother, Nora Jean Skuce of Stoughton, two brothers, Dennis (Vivian Skuce) , and Donald (Betty Skuce) of Saskatoon, SK, brother-in-law, Bill (Irene Goudy) of Regina; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her infant daughter, Nora Gillian (1968); father, William (1989) granddaughter Rachel Hunter (1994); and two sisters, Marcy Jean Goudy (2007) and Joan Carol Mary Small (1994). Donna, the second child and daughter of William and Nora (Adams) Skuce, was born Sunday, February 18, 1940 in Stoughton, Saskatchewan. She remembered with fondness growing up in Saskatchewan with her brothers, sisters and cousins. She started her elementary schooling in Stoughton, SK, graduating from high school in Forget, SK, then continued on to complete her Bachelor of Arts (1964) from University of Saskatchewan and later completed her Honours BA in Social Work at Lakehead University (1984). From her education she went onto to work with Family Services in the Rainy River District and later on as a member of the board with Family Services in Thunder Bay, ON. Donna married Rod in 1966 and moved to Fort Frances where they started their family. In 1977 Donna and Rod moved to Thunder Bay, ON where she spent the majority of her life. Later in retirement years (2000), Donna and Rod moved to Lethbridge, AB to be closer to grandchildren. Her home was filled with laughter and music. She touched all who met her with her joyful, kind and compassionate countenance. An avid gardener and lover of the outdoors, Donna always looked to find a new adventure. Donna was deeply loved by her family and friends and all that knew her. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, LETHBRIDGE STAKE CENTRE, 2410-28 Street South, Lethbridge at 11:00 a.m. Friends may meet the family prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Interment to follow at a later date at the Chapple Cemetery north of Barwick, ON.
