David Puzey

DAVID ELMER PUZEY beloved husband of Myrna Puzey of Champion, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at High River on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the age of 64 years. David is survived by his wife Myrna ( Minty) Puzey of 43 years. He will be dearly missed by his children: Lalainia (Jason) Atwood, David (Charmaine) Puzey, Jared (Amber) Puzey and Rachel (Jared) Hague; sisters: Sheila Rhodes, Sandra (Wayne) Gedlaman and DaVeeda (Rick) West; Myrna's siblings: Cheryl (Logan) McCarthy and Dick (Linda) Minty. David had a great love for his grandchildren: Ashton and Bowen Atwood; Cora, Leah and Blake Puzey; Emry, Calum and Armin Puzey; and Liam Hague; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Fred and Hannah Puzey, Myrna's parents Jim and Rhoda Minty, son-in-law Steven Tolley and grandson Kenneth David Atwood. David was born May 6, 1946 in Lethbridge and lived his life on the family farm in Champion. His first love has always been his family and spending time with them was always a priority. David had too many interests to mention; basketball and the outdoors as a young man, years of service in the community as a scout leader working with youth as well as fun with friends and family on the ski slopes. He served an honourable mission in the Southwest British Mission where he developed a love for the people of England, Wales and all things British. He married his sweetheart Myrna Elaine Minty on November 9, 1968 and they have been sweethearts since. David has treasured his associations and friendships with a variety of people and this love was evident in his years of service as a Bishop and in many other callings in the church. He loved people and always had a special place in his heart for the youth. David loved life and lived it to the fullest. His sense of humour carried him through tough times. He will be dearly missed. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel in Champion, Alberta. Friends may meet with the family prior to the service on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m. Interment in the Champion Cemetery.
