Colleen McLean

November 12, 1930 — March 31, 2012

Send flowers

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, COLLEEN LUCILLE McLEAN, beloved wife of the late Tom McLean. Colleen was born November 12, 1930 in Claresholm, Alberta and passed away on March 31, 2012, in Lethbridge, Alberta. Colleen is survived by her 4 daughters: Dawna-Rae (Bruce) Court, Dianne (Jerry) LeGrandeur, Cheryl (Dave) Boyden, and Barbara (Gordon) McIntosh; by Tom's children: Carole (Alf) Heggedal, Brent (Deanna) McLean; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; by her sister Gwen Michelson (Fharell); brother Byrnie (Angela) Bodnaruk, sisters-in-law Diane LePard, and Donna LePard; and many nieces and nephews. Colleen was predeceased by her husband Tom, her parents Wes LePard and Lila Johnson, her brothers George LePard, Stuart LePard, Don LePard, Bobby Bodnaruk and grandson Trevor Heggedal. Colleen spent most of her life in Lethbridge where she worked mainly in the retail industry at such places as Eaton's toy department, Sweet 16, Beau Jangles and the Gold Brick Jewellers. She had many friends and loved to stay connected with them through her famous lengthy phone conversations. She loved the colour pink, lots of jewellery, new shoes, and keeping up with the latest fashion. Colleen was a joyous person who loved life and was most happy when around family and friends. She especially took great joy in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. We will miss her wonderful smile, her laughter, and her unconditional love. We will think of her and smile when we see the colour pink. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, LETHBRIDGE STAKE CENTRE, 2410-28 Street South, Lethbridge, with Bishop Jeff Drollinger officiating.
