CLARENCE WILLIAM "Bus" RICHARDSON of Picture Butte, Alberta passed away peacefully at St. Michaels's Palliative Care Centre on April 5, 2010 at the age of 89 years.
Bus is survived by his wife of 64 years; Marge; his family : Terri (Kelly) Chrupka, Scott (Fran) Richardson, Jody Good, Paula (Jim) Forbes, Laurie (Les) Wieland, Carrie and Wade Richardson, John (Sandy) Korthius, Brenda Lou and Karen McDougall, 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, his brothers: Ralph, Gary and Carl (Marie), one sister, May (G.R.) Clifton, and sisters-in-law; Mary and Peg Richardson.

Bus was predeceased by his parents, Ethel and David and his three brothers, Ernie, Cal and Mel.

Bus's home was open to everyone and his family extended far beyond the normal family nucleus.

Bus was born December 26, 1920 in Raymond to Ethel and Dave Richardson. He attended school in Raymond and upon completion went to work on Meek's cattle ranch. Bus loved horses and riding the Milk River ridge. At the age of 19 he enlisted in the Calgary Highlanders C.A.S.F. From there he went to Europe and fought in Sicily, Italy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany.

He met Marge in Worthing, England while on leave and they married on June 16, 1945. They made their home in Southern Alberta working in Stirling, Raymond and then moving to the Pikani Nation, where he worked for the L.N.I.D. From there he moved to Iron Springs and then Park Lake. Upon retiring, he moved to Picture Butte where he spent his leisure time camping, tending to his roses and visiting with the neighbors.

Bus's grandchildren and great grand children were the highlight of his life and he always teased the kids about being girl chasers or boy chasers. The kids were reluctant to tell him anything for fear they would never hear the end of it.

Bus was a very inspiring role model for his family with his honesty and pride. He was very witty and always gave everyone a chuckle. Our family is sorry to inform the community that Dad's dying wish was to have no funeral.

Cremation. Dad's ashes will be placed in the Field of Honor, Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge.

Memorial tributes may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No 46 Poppy Fund, 159-23 Street, Fort Macleod, AB T0L 0Z0.

May you rest in peace Grandpa, have fun hanging out the moon and stars at night.
