BERTHA(CHIEF BODY) KEATING, beloved wife of the late Jack Keating, passed away at the Raymond Hospital on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the age of 84 years. Even though Leonard Chief Body was her nephew, she took him as her son and she had Leonard's boys as her grandchildren: Brad Chief Body, Dana (Lois, Little Tatum) Chief Body. She is also survived by one sister Monica, one brother Joseph Chief Body, and nieces: Dixie, Tammy, Betty, nephews: Clarence, Patrick, Michael, Geoffrey, Winslow. She was predeceased by her husband Jack Keating, parents Joe Sr. and Katie Chief Body; brothers: Victor, Fred, Conrad; sisters: Mary, Ida, and Loretta, Uncle Pete and Uncle Dan Weasel Moccasin, and Aunt Mary Jane First Rider. Bertha was born in Cardston and went to the St. Mary's Residential School. She married Jack in Montreal. She worked as an RN in the Northwest Territories, in Fort Macleod, Lethbridge, and then retired from the Calgary Foothills Hospital. Bertha moved to Calgary in the 1980s and stayed until 2007. She returned back home to spend more time with her family. Prayers will be held on Sunday evening, March 14 at 7:00 p.m. at CHRISTENSEN SALMON FUNERAL HOME, 327-10 Street South, Lethbridge. The visitation will follow to 11:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 318-10 Street South, Lethbridge, with Fr. Raul Hernandez, Celebrant.
