Barbara (Barb) Anne Leonard

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara (Barb) Leonard, who completed her earthly journey on July 26, 2026, at Calgary Foothills Hospital.

Barb lived a life of resilience. She walked through many difficult seasons with quiet strength, yet she continued to move forward with love in her heart. Her greatest legacy is the family she leaves behind and the lives that continue because of her.

She is lovingly remembered by her partner of over 30 years, Stanley Redfearn; her daughters, Caroline Dalton (Mark Dalton) and Christine Mitchell; her Stepsons, Stephen and Lawrence Redfearn; her grandchildren, Ethan and Jillian Dalton, Aria and Mason Mitchell, and Tristan, Lola, and Layla Mellen.

She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Vanessa Leonard; her brother, Ian Leonard (Christy Leonard); along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives she touched.

Barb was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Cynthia Leonard; her sister, Norma Leonard; her beloved son, Steven Mellen; and her son-in-law, Ryan Mitchell.

Those who knew Barb will remember her for her perseverance, her caring heart, and the love she had for her family. Through every chapter of her life, she continued to move forward, leaving a lasting imprint on those fortunate enough to know her.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the incredible ICU nurses, neurosurgeons, physicians, and staff at Calgary Foothills Hospital. Your compassion, skill, and unwavering care brought comfort during an unimaginably difficult time. We will always be grateful.

At 9:11 a.m. on July 26, 2026, Barb took her final human breath. While her earthly journey came to an end, her love lives on through every person whose life she shaped. Her story continues in her children, her grandchildren, her family, her friends, and in the countless memories she leaves behind."
