Barbara Nalder

BARBARA JEAN CHRISTENSEN NALDER, beloved wife of the late Sherwin Wilcox Nalder, passed away peacefully at the Raymond Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer, on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at the age of 75 years. She is the loving mother of: Wayne (Bev) Nalder, Diane (Tony) Zilinski, and Jim (Tovi) Nalder. Barbara is also survived by six loving grandchildren: Eric, Cory, Kevin, Brandon, Kristin, and Celeste; brothers: Gord and Becky Christensen and Ron and Elsie Christensen and families. Barbara was predeceased by her husband Sherwin, her parents Elmo and Alice Christensen, brother Dale, son Ron, granddaughter Julie. Barbara was born in Raymond, Alberta on November 28, 1934. She grew up with many childhood memories in Raymond. She married Sherwin in 1954 and moved to Great Falls, Montana where they lived until 1969. Then they made the decision to return to Canada, settling in Taber with their four children. In 1994 they returned to Raymond where she resided until her passing. Barbara was an active member in the LDS church and enjoyed serving in the temple. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by all. Her warmth and compassion touched many lives, but her greatest passion was her family. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Knight Street Chapel, Raymond, with Bishop Richard Wilde officiating. Interment in the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond. Friends may meet the family at the church on Monday evening, July 19 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. or from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday. Memorial donations may be made to the Lethbridge Cancer Centre, Equipment Fund, Room 2A-102-960-19 Street South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 1W5.
