
ARTHUR "ART" E. VAUGHAN, beloved husband of Arline (Barkhouse) Vaughan of Lethbridge, passed away at St. Michael's Health Care Centre on Monday, March 23, 2009 at the age of 83 years. Besides his wife, Arline, Art is survived by his family; Jim (Maureen) Scott of Lethbridge, Peggy (Jack) Wood of Creston, B.C., Murray (Bonnie) Scott of Kelowna, B.C., Roger (Cheryl) Scott of Lethbridge, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Malcolm Vaughan and a sister, Ida Armstrong. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Annie Vaughan, a brother, Roy and a sister, Mona Florence. Art was born and raised in Martin's Point, Nova Scotia. At the age of 14 years he started working on a farm. When he was 16 years old he joined the Merchant Marines and served during the Second World War. Art spent the majority of his life working in construction as a carpenter. In 1964 he married Arline. He enjoyed camping, traveling, outings, wood crafting and especially his family. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings such as Branch President and District President in Nova Scotia. Funeral Services will be held at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Lethbridge East Stake Chapel, 4105 Forestry Avenue South, on Friday, March 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Mark Heninger officiating. Friends may meet the family prior to the service at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Interment in the Cardston Cemetery.
