ARTHUR ELLIS BALDRY 1924 - 2008 Art Baldry, beloved husband of Lillian Karren Baldry, peacefully passed away on Thursday morning, August 28, 2008 at the age of 84 years Art was born in Lethbridge on March 20, 1924, a son to Robert and Emilie Baldry. He received his schooling in Coaldale and in 1941, at merely 17 years of age, Art enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. A few days later he boarded the train in Coaldale and was on his way to World War II. Art served in active duty for 5 years and returned home in 1946. On June 27, 1947 Art married Lillian Karren. Art's love for Lillian and their family always came first. His sense of humor and friendly personality made family time full of fun, laughter, loyalty and love. His family meant everything to him and he will be forever cherished and remembered by his wife, Lillian and their children: Karren (Don) Runquist of Lethbridge and their children: Chad (Karen), Tyler (Cathy), JB, Adam (Lara) and Jill (Alexi) Vera. Roger (Peggy) Baldry of Raymond and their children: Melinda (Matthew) Hunter, Christy (Benson) Porter, Ryan (Sarabeth), Derek (Lindsay), Stephanie, Brooke (Braydon) Byam, Brett, and Austin. Debra (Ian) Wood of Taber and their children: Jordan, Maren, Tenille, and Parker. Mark (Teresa) Baldry of Taber and their children: Amy, Nathan (Whitney), Jenna (Darin) Wight, Tess and Sarah. Art also has 32 great grandchildren. He is survived by his sister, Ruth Pilling of Cardston and his brother, Wilfred (Bianca) Baldry of Calgary and his brothers and sisters-in-law: Fred Karren, Helendean and Boyd Huntsman, Joanne Moser and Nurae and Ron Peterson. Also numerous nieces and nephews mourn his loss. Art was predeceased by his parents and 7 brothers and sisters-in-law. Art loved life, his country, God and his family. He brought so much good into the world. He will be terribly missed, but his influence will live on forever. His family so much appreciates all those who helped him on his final journey: Dr. Cal Stewart, the staff and lab at the Family Medical Center, the staff of the 4th and 5th floors of the Chinook Regional Hospital, and the St. Michael's Palliative Care Workers. Thank you for the tender care and dignity that you gave to Art during his final moments.
