ALMA KAYE BULLOCK beloved husband of the late Billie Bullock, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, April 21, 2008 at the age of 87 years. He is also the loving father of A. Drew (Terrie) Bullock and Lori (Clark) Mendenhall. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. His sisters are Peggy (Jack) Harker and Barbara (Harold) Ursaki. He was predeceased by his parents Alma and Laura Bullock, brother Clinton Dale, sisters Lillian Allison and Hazel Hyt and daughter-in-law Lorene Bullock. Kaye was born in Raymond on August 5, 1920. He was the eldest of six children. Kaye's early childhood years were spent on the Welling farm where he roamed the prairies and played with his sisters. Farm life was busy and much of the time was spent feeding pigs, chickens, haying, gardening and milking cows. He never owned a bike but rode horses and he and his 22 gauge rabbit gun spent many hours roaming across the farm and down at the old pothole coulee. It was also during his younger years Kaye met and fell in love with long time sweetheart Billie Sorenson of Raymond. They were married on November 2, 1949 in the Cardston Alberta Temple. Kaye designed and built a brick home in Taber and they lived there for 17 years. In 1967 Kaye opened the Yamaha motorcycle shop in Lethbridge and in 1973 the family moved to Lethbridge to be closer to work. Kaye was very musical and after the move to Lethbridge he bought himself a trumpet and taught himself to play it. He then joined the Lethbridge Community Band and played in their yearly concert. Kaye was an avid and accomplished marksman and won numerous Silhouette Shooting competitions. During Kaye's retirement he and Billie spent time camping in their 5th wheel trailer and hiking the mountains with Dad's German Shepherds and Billie busy taking pictures. Kaye loved his dogs and there were very few years he didn't have one at his side. Kaye was a very kind man and would do anything for anybody. For many years he delivered food for the Bishop's Storehouse all over Southern Alberta. He also built some metal steps for Habitat for Humanity. He shovelled off everyone's sidewalk for about three houses on either side of him. Kaye was always ready to give a helping hand. When Kaye and Billie were at West Highlands and Billie was suffering from a stroke that left her paralysed on one side and unable to talk, Kaye stayed by her side taking care of her every need. He was a great father, husband and grandfather, and will be missed by all. We love you. Thanks so much to all of the wonderful caregivers at the Chinook Regional Hospital and at West Highlands. Friends may meet the family on Friday, April 25, 2008 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703-13 Street North, Lethbridge, or prior to the funeral service at the church on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Lethbridge East Stake Centre, 4105 Forestry Avenue South, Lethbridge.
