The official obituary of
Alexander Kenneth Peter Goedhart
January 16, 1992 — September 1, 2026
We are deeply saddened to share that Alex Goedhart has passed away on September 1, 2026, at the age of 34.
Growing up, Alex had boundless energy and could often be found making his rounds through the neighbourhood. He made fast friends with everyone he encountered. Alex was a natural athlete, and his fearless nature allowed him to excel in whatever he did. Most of Alex’s teenage years were spent at the skatepark or BMXing. He was also a quick and forceful rugby player in high school and adopted snowboarding and golf later in life.
Alex will be remembered for his outgoing personality, his love of a good time, and his ability to make friends wherever life took him. He was hardworking and dedicated, building a successful career in the oilfield, a life that brought with it long days, hard work, and friendships that became an important part of who he was.
Alex had a large circle of friends and leaves behind countless stories, laughs, and memories shared with those lucky enough to know him. Beneath his fun-loving nature was someone who was deeply loved by all who knew him.
Thirty-four years was nowhere near enough. Alex's absence leaves an immeasurable space in the lives of his parents, his family, and the many friends who loved him.
Alex is survived by his loving parents, Ken and Anita; sister, Chelsea; Grandma Iona; and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and cherished friends.
We hope that Alex has found eternal peace. We will remember his laughter, the good times, and we will carry his memory with us always.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday October 9th, 2026, from 2:00 - 4:00pm at Westminster Hall, 411 16th Street North Lethbridge.
Light refreshments will be served.
