Akira "Fred" Terashima

Akira “Fred” TERASHIMA, beloved husband of the late Yasuko Terashima, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019 in Lethbridge at the age of 93 years.

He is survived by his two children: Thomas Terashima and Irene Aya Terashima.

He was born August 22, 1925 to Gengi and Mieko Terashima in Steveston, B.C.  Akira arrived in southern Alberta on April 22, 1942. He started working at Trans Canada Freezers in 1961 and was there for over 25 years. He was a longtime member of the Lethbridge Buddhist Church (northside) and an honourary member of the Chojukai Seniors Club.

Thank you to the staff at Good Samaritan, Park Meadows and Chinook Regional Hospital for their care and support over the last couple years.

Friends may meet the family Friday May 17th, 2019 from 2:00 - 2:30pm at the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta (470 – 40th St. S. Lethbridge, just south of the Casino). The funeral will follow at 2:30pm.

In lieu of flowers and Koden, donations may be made to the BTSA or a charity of one’s choice.
