
CHERVINSKI ADAM (AB) ABRAHAM CHERVINSKI, beloved husband of 61 years to Buella, passed away peacefully at Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the age of 91 years. He is also survived by his daughter Jean Adam and her son Jason; his son Ken Chervinski and his two children Robyn, and Riley. Ab is also survived by three sisters: Rose (Stan) Hunt, Margaret Metcalfe, and Roberta Petro, and his special niece Pat Wallace. He was predeceased by his son Leonard "Butch" Chervinski, his mother and father Mary and Joseph Chervinski and his three brothers and six sisters. Ab was born on February 24, 1920 in Lethbridge where he spent his youth. He then joined the Air Force and moved to Ontario. Later he returned to Lethbridge and started working for AGT and became very involved in theatre. He wrote and produced the opening musical for the Yates Theatre, and enjoyed playing Scrooge for the Christmas productions. In 1950 Ab and Buella wed and had three children, whom they raised in Taber, where he was the Chairman for the Golden Jubilee. After 37 years with AGT, Ab retired and enjoyed antiquing and eventually opened a store in Taber. In 1992 Ab and Buella moved back to Lethbridge and he became an avid card player at the Nordbridge Seniors Centre. He was a great historian and donated many artifacts to museums in Alberta. Ab took an auctioneering course and donated his services to the Schizophrenic Society for a number of years. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at CHRISTENSEN SALMON GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703-13 Street North, Lethbridge, with Deacon Cliff Bogdan officiating. Special thanks to Home Care nurse Laura Hoar, his personal care aides, and the staff at the Chinook Regional Hospital for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Schizophrenic Society of Alberta, 715-5 Ave. N., Lethbridge, AB T1H 0M3.
