Abe Olfert

ABE (Don) OLFERT beloved husband of Donna (Smith) Olfert of Raymond, passed away suddenly at home on Friday, February 6, 2009 at the age of 70 years. He is the loving father of: David (Chris) Olfert of Magrath, AB, Debra (Russell) Court of Raymond, AB; and Wendy (Cecil) Kusz of Raymond, AB. He leaves behind seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and one step grandson. Abe was predeceased by his mother Helen, and his stepfather Oner Happonen. After finishing his education he was married and served in the Canadian Armed Forces in Germany. He returned to Canada in the early 60's and settled in Raymond. He spent the last 24 years of his career with the City of Lethbridge, and had many accomplishments. Abe's greatest enjoyment was his family and service to the community. He also enjoyed the outdoors and had many other interests. Friends may meet the family prior to the service on Wednesday at the church from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Knight Street Chapel, Raymond with Brother Dave Drew officiating. Interment to follow at the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond.
