One of the great blessings of serving as a missionary is the opportunity of meeting such a variety of people, and in some cases becoming a part of their life...such was my good fortune with Jane McMullin. When I first met Sister McMullin in the Canada-Calgary Mission I was enveloped by her unique skill of making you feel like you were at the center of her universe. She demonstrated such sincere love and interest that immediately brightened my day and motivated me to improve. I remember in the mission home when she was called on to pray...I frequently would open my eyes and just stare at her-mesmerized with her complete devotion. I had never witnessed someone who truly communicated with God on such a spiritual plane. She helped in many ways make my mission what it was. Over the 35+ years of our friendship she loved filling me in on the details of her family and friends. Her memory was so sharp--she knew the details of each and every one. That is where her heart, thoughts, and prayers were centered. She was always about the welfare of others. I cherish her infectious laugh, her always positive outlook, her strong testimony. She played an important role in the courtship of my future wife as she was always my listening ear in that critical time of my life. She rode shotgun with me from Salt Lake City to Idaho Falls--keeping an eye out for any highway patrol--so I could make it to the marriage license office three minutes before closing. She saved the day and joined with us the next morning as we were sealed in the Temple. We have kept in touch over these many years and her love has spilled over to my children and grandchildren. This past year while my wife and I were serving a full-time mission we received (as always) a wonderful card from Jane. She included $20 to assist in the work. Truly the widow's mite. She was and is a remarkable woman, and I am blessed to have been her friend. XOXOXO Lee Snarr

I was so glad to be able to make it to Aunt Jane's funeral and be with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other family and friends this past weekend. She was much like her mother, my grandma Fannye Walker, who was the most loving person in the world to me. Neither one had ever met a person they didn't like and each would attend general conference in Salt Lake and know, greet and kiss, hundreds of people there, including the general authorities and Church president. (Aunt Jane's kisses were wetter). As a young adult, I met President Kimball in Waterton, when he was staying with President Tanner. When he learned I was a Walker, he didn't talk about Uncle Bob, or even Uncle Fay, with whom he had been meeting, but rather about Aunt Jane. He said that once he had stayed at Grandpa Walker's house and there met Aunt Jane and her family. Upon meeting Spence, he said he always gave little boys named Spencer a silver dollar and pulled one out of his pocket. (He added that Faris then asked what he gave little boys named Faris and that he had to send him a silver dollar through the mail). After my family left Raymond and moved to Calgary, we were back very, very often, and I most often stayed with Aunt Jane (but also often with Aunt Mary). She was the queen of fun. I watched when Harlan Taylor, having renovated his surgery, got rid of his sterilizer by selling it to Aunt Jane for $1. A few days later he apologetically asked for it back, having discovered that he needed it after all, and offered to buy it back. Aunt Jane refused to take any money, saying that she had had a dollar's worth of fun with it. Her income at the time was only $35 per week and she was raising a family of five on that paltry sum. Aunt Jane had a pure heart and unimpeachable personal integrity. More than anyone I know she was the perfect embodiment of the 8th Scout Law: "A scout smiles and whistles under all circumstances." She was pretty much perfect in any other virtue you could name as well. Thanks for helping us to stay on the right path during our childhood and youth and inspiring us to want to live up to high standards Aunt Jane. We love and miss you and are glad you made it back to your celestial home in time for your 62nd anniversary. ♡♡♡ Reagan

My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Sister Jane McMullin. I served in the Canada Calgary Mission from September 1973 to April of 1974 and I instantly fell in love with Sister McMullin! Luckily, my first area was within the Mission home boundaries and we would frequently be in the mission home for one thing or another. We always looked forward to seeing Sister McMullin and visiting with her. I will always remember the delicious meals she so lovingly prepared as well. The thing I remember most about her was that she was always cheerful and happy--forever smiling. I count it a real blessing in my life to have known her, and I will always cherish my memories of her. She was truly a great lady and I thank my Heavenly Father that I had the opportunity of knowing her. She will be missed!!

My love and thoughts and prayers go out to all the family. Sister McMullin was one of the highlights of my mission. After a bout with hepatitis, I was transferred to the mission home to be the mission secretary. I spent about 10 months of my mission working from the mission home. I was therefore the long-time recipient of her incredible cooking, deserts, love and friendship. She always left goodies in the pantry for the missionaries who lived in the mission office. (They were off limits except for mealtime but she knew we had our late night raids on the pantry!). We would often hide behind the counter and knowing we were there she would tip toe around the counter and say BOO! One time we rigged up a short broom with a wire on the top on which we place a couple of cups. We tied a string to the broom such that we could pull it back and forth behind the counter. We were situated such that we could actually watch her tip toe down the side of the counter and when she jumped around the end of the counter and said BOO only to find the broom with the cups on the top of the wire going back and forth, she broke out in laughter, cause she knew we had her! We must have not stopped laughing together for at least 10 minutes. I remember one P-day when she went to accompany Elder Jensen and me when we went to fly a glider that we had built on our P-days, and another time when we went gopher fishing (we put fish line loops around gopher mounds and then waited until they popped back up and then we'd pull the lines and reel them in. She thought that was so funny to watch. Her smile and laugh were contagious and she brought such a wonderful spirit into the mission home. It was so great to be able to continue to see her for many mission reunions. How I wish I could be there personally to tell you all what a wonderful friend she was to me and my family and to share in the celebration of the wonderful life she has had. What a wonderful time she must be having with her family, friends and loved ones on the other side of the veil. With my great love, Dan Collette

We send our love to all the family. How we loved and cherished Aunt Jane! She was a pillar of strength and compassion and joy! Everyone loves Aunt Jane and feels close to her. She will be very very missed. She lived such a Christ-like life. I have always felt so blessed to be her niece. She was so kind to me. When my husband Karl suffered a paralyzing injury in 2012, Aunt Jane called me frequently to cheer us up and check on us. It meant the world to me. We love Aunt Jane and all of her children. She is truly a remarkable, elect woman of God.

Tomorrow will be the day that our sweet Aunt Jane will be honored by many family and friends. Upon hearing of her passing on November 30, our family has shared many thoughts and pictures in remembrance of this amazing lady. Each of us have numerous memories of Aunt Jane, but all include her radiant smile, warm touch, and uplifting words. Being around Aunt Jane made anyone feel so loved. Aunt Jane is an inspiration to all of us to live life to its fullest. Aunt Jane was the most Christlike person, always doing for others, and looking for the good in everyone. We will all miss her more than words can say. Aunt Jane, we love you more than life itself. Enjoy your reunion with so many loved ones, but most importantly, Uncle Nolan!!
