Vivian (Brown/Heggie) Davies, beloved wife of the late David “Bud” Davies, passed away peacefully at the age of 94, on June 23, 2026, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital.
Vivian leaves to mourn her son Dennis Heggie, daughter-in-law Diane Heggie, grandchildren Andrea (John) Watkins and Bryce Heggie, as well as four great grandchildren Hailey and Noelle Watkins; Ivy and Felix Heggie.
Vivian was predeceased by Robert Ray Heggie and David “Bud” Davies, as well as six brothers and two sisters.
Vivian was born on October 18, 1931, in Lethbridge. Being the youngest of nine, she had many fond memories and fun times with family and friends.
Vivian married Ray Heggie on November 10, 1950. Together they had one son, Dennis. Sadly, Ray was killed in a small plane accident on December 19, 1953. Later Vivian and Dennis moved to Calgary where she started her career as a secretary with Sun Alliance Insurance until her retirement in 1989.
She raised her son Dennis as a single mom with many happy memories with family and friends. She married Bud Davies on March 3, 1978. After they retired in 1990, they moved to their farm west of Innisfail. They enjoyed horse riding, horse driving and square dancing. She loved quilting and baking. After leaving the farm, they moved to Red Deer in 2020 to a retirement home. Bud passed away in February 2026 after almost 48 years of marriage.
Viv was a loving and kind mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She will be missed by all.
A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 1:00pm at the LDS Church, South Broadway Ward, 2 North 200 West, Raymond, AB. Friends may meet the family from 12:00pm to 12:45pm. Interment to take place at Temple Hill Cemetery.
