Vija Samantha (Cuillerier) Doyle

Vija Samanatha Doyle (Cuillerier) of Lethbridge, Alberta passed away after a brief illness on January 7th, 2025 at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge at the age of 52.   

Vija was born in North Vancouver in 1972 but then spent much of her childhood in many different places including Ontario, Quebec and Newfoundland as the family moved around for her dad’s job. She ended up spending most of her later adolescence in North Bay/Corbeil where she attended junior and senior high. Vija was always incredibly academic and excelled in school. She loved hanging out with her friends and being outdoors. She completed her lifeguard training early which allowed her to spend lots of time at the pool and make some money as well. Once she graduated, she headed to the University of Toronto where she continued to excel at school, completing both her Phys. Ed and Physiotherapy degrees. That is where she met Rick and headed on an adventure out west.  Starting her career in Prince Albert, SK, she met many great friends and spent hours and hours outdoors, camping, skiing and hiking in Northern Saskatchewan with her pups. PA was also where Liam was born and her new family started. After four years came the move to Lethbridge and baby number two, Aidan, who arrived in 2004. Liam and Aidan became the center of her life and she was so proud of the men they have become. She stayed working with Alberta Health Services for over 22 years in a number of different rolls until she passed. She left a positive impact on every job she had and will be remembered by many. All through her time in Lethbridge, she continued with her passions of scrap booking, gardening, and home decorating. She was able to take her incredible artistic skill and weave it into every aspect of her life. Her family, her dogs and her friends were always the center of everything she did. She will be missed by all who knew her, and she was taken way too early. Vija you were a beautiful giving soul, and we will always love you.

Vija leaves behind her children, Liam and Aidan. Her parents Bev and Bob Cuillerier, her sister Tiina (Shawn) Starinsky, her nephews Zachery, Nathan, Tyler and Colton. As well as many aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides of her family. Her ex-husband, Rick and many family members in the Doyle family as well. She was predeceased by her grandparents on the Cuillerier and Darragh sides of the family. 

There will be no service held at this time.
