VICTOR JOSEPH BOYCHUK, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully with his wife, Shirley and son, Bruce by his side on Monday, December 20, 2021 at the age of 89 years.
Vic was born to Michael and Nellie Boychuk of Coaldale, in Lethbridge on October 18, 1932. He attended school in Coaldale and graduated from Coaldale High School. He worked mainly in agriculture on the family farm and on neighboring farms. He married Shirley Wocknitz on October 10, 1959. They made their home in Lethbridge where Vic was employed by various businesses; until he entered Viking Barber School in 1961. Vic set up his own four shops and served the community for 39 years, retiring in 2001.
Vic was an active member in Nordbridge Senior’s Centre where he participated in bocce ball, darts and carpet bowling. His hobbies included radio controlled cars, welding and camping – especially in Waterton Park.
Vic is the loving father of James Robert Boychuk and Bruce Michael Boychuk, both of Lethbridge.
He is also survived by his brothers; Peter (Sally) of Lethbridge and Edward (Connie) Calgary as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; Michael and Nellie Boychuk of Coaldale.
Friends may meet the family at Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home, 703 – 13 Street North, Lethbridge, on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. or prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Northside LDS chapel. Those wishing to attend the evening visitation are asked to call the funeral home to book a time.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Northside Chapel, 2213 – 6A Avenue North.
Masks are mandatory.
