Therese “Teri” Violet Szentes, beloved wife of the late Alec Szentes of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Centre on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the age of 77 years.
Born and raised in Lethbridge, Teri built her life in the community she loved. It was here that she raised her family and created a home that was always open to others. She was a strong, beautiful, kind, and generous woman who was always ready to help anyone in need, especially during the holidays. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she took great joy in bringing people together.
Teri was known for her legendary sense of humour. Those who met her were drawn to her warmth and genuine nature. She was a hardworking woman who accomplished many things in life, but her greatest pride and most valued role was being a mother to “the Gordon Girls” and a grandmother.
She cherished her family deeply and was especially proud of the life she built with the love of her life, her husband Alec. Through their marriage she welcomed a second family into her life, one of whom she loved dearly and held close to her heart.
Teri also enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. In her later years, she enjoyed carport parties, reading her flyers, and watching British murder mysteries. She spent her final days surrounded by family at St. Michael’s.
She is lovingly remembered by her children April Gulevich, Kim (Trevor) Brassard, Jody (Farron) Gordon and Darcy Szentes, all of Lethbridge; as well as her cherished grandchildren Tylar Gordon-Shank (Andrew Vegso) and Isabella Gordon-King. Her great grandchildren were all fur babies… Mocha, Ida, Lydia, Mr., Sweet Pea and Luca.
She is also survived by her siblings which include: Melford Fredrick, Selby (Sylvia) Friedrick, Lorne (Shannon) Friedrick, Jamie Fredrick and Carol Vanderhulst, along with many nieces and nephews.
Teri was predeceased by her parents Rosalia (Balog) Friedrick and James St. Dennis, as well as siblings: Lloyd, Ralph, Bill, Verl, Lesley, Norman and Debbie.
Friends may meet the family at 12:00 P.M on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home, 703-13 Street North, Lethbridge. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 P.M. with interment to follow at the Royal View Memorial Cemetery.
In memory of Therese, donations may be made to Cancer research.
Teri will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Live-stream will be available, and a link will appear below this obituary 15 minutes before service time.
