Sandra Thomson Clayton, beloved wife of the late Kenneth Clayton, of Stirling, Alberta, passed away at Edith Cavell Care Centre on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the age of 78 years.
Sandie was born on January 18, 1947, to DeLois and Alexander Little of Lethbridge, Alberta. She cherished many happy memories of growing up throughout Southern Alberta on the farms her father worked. A talented artist, she loved drawing and won many awards for her work.
Sandie met Ken on a blind date. After just one date, they got engaged and were married on November 4, 1967.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Crystal Stappler of Lethbridge, AB; Alex (Sarah) Clayton of Stirling, AB; and Sabrina (John Cameron) Clayton of Parkland, AB. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Meaghan, Desirea, Avery, Kendra, De.Lois, Mark, Sabrena, and Myrenda; as well as her great-grandchildren: Ellinore, Rae, Kenny, Emily, Amelia, April, Ty, Sylys, Anneliese, Lilly, Willford, and David.
Sandie was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Clayton; her parents, Alexander and DeLois Little; and her sister, Annette Clifton.
Sandra had a passion for crafting, sewing, crocheting, counted cross-stitching, and reading. She and Ken enjoyed spending time in nature—camping and fishing—though after moving from the lake, she preferred not to eat the fish.
She was a longtime member of TOPS and a devoted lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in many callings, including as a librarian in numerous wards.
We believe that she is having a joyous reunion in heaven.
