Sandra “Sandy” Jean Bradley (McAdam) passed away peacefully on April 20th, 2022 at her home in Lethbridge, AB.
Sandy was born on September 25th, 1947 to Thomas and Ouida McAdam in Lethbridge, AB. She was the baby of the family for a time (to her dismay, I’m sure), and the first to be born in Canada. Sandy never had a problem making friends, or being the center of attention. She had the kind of natural charisma that so many people can only dream of having, so much so that even her stubborn-ness, constant sass, and lack of filter couldn’t deter people away. Simply put, she was an incredibly likeable person. She was also, in the words of many, a complete and total troublemaker – I think it’s best if we leave those stories for another time.
Sandy had a long-running career as a meat wrapper, first starting her career at Woodwards and eventually moving on to Safeway years later. She stayed in her position at Safeway for many years, until she moved on to the deli department before her retirement. She always spoke fondly of her Safeway family, and was well loved in return even after her retirement.
Sandy loved horses, dogs, and cats. She always had to have one of those 3 at any given time, if not 2. At one point she unfortunately received a permanent ban from the pound… At least, that’s what we told her. As well as her fondness for animals (and bugs, the nice kind), Sandy had many passions as well. She loved gardening, painting, drawing, embroidery, and a multitude of other crafting projects. She had a certain spark for creativity, one that she thankfully passed on to her daughter, granddaughter, and great-grandchildren alike.
Sandy is the loving mother of Tammy Bradley and Shannon Calderwood, as well as the grandma of Cherron Desautels, and great-grandma of Freya Forster and Kol Desautels. She is the “favorite” sister to Maureen (Bill) Matson, Roger (Dixie) McAdam, Cicine (Francis) Smith, Betty Carbert (Darrell Piehl), and Sue (Andy) Reeves. She has many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces/nephews as well who all held a special place in her heart. She will be missed as well by her special friend (ahem, ex-husband), Tim Bradley.
Sandy was pre-deceased by her parents Thomas McAdam and Ouida McAdam (Bohm), as well as her son-in-law Todd Desautels.
There will be a celebration of life held for Sandy on Saturday, April 30th at 1pm, at the Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home in Lethbridge, AB. All are welcome to attend.
